JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR ENGINEER / ENGINEER – SAFETY
JOB DESCRIPTION
To develop and train safety officers in the region to discharge their duties effectively
To provide on the job induction training on the duties/position to be performed
To guide the safety officer in preparing EHS and emergency plan.
To monitor the effective implementation of the environment health & safety plan (EHS) at the site.
To ensure safety/orientation of the new recruits at the site through safety officer.
To investigate the serious nature of the accident and suggest control measures.
To suggest corrective actions wherever required based on the feedback given by the safety committee & records maintained.
Conduct safety audits at site & inspection on a daily basis.
To ensure smooth coordination between the project management team and site safety department for establishing safe working (execution) environment at the site.
Establish a report between the project management team & site safety team.
Enhancing the safety awareness programme among the project management team.
To bring to the notice of the senior management about the safety standards at the site for them to take corrective actions.
To send monthly reports to the regional safety head on the safety standards at site.
To have an on-going interaction with the regional safety head on the safety standards.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Should be B.Sc (Chemistry & Physics) / B.E./B.Tech/Diploma (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) with 4-10 yrs of experience.
- Should have recognized diploma in Industrial safety from state technical board (STBE) or AICTE (1 Year Full Time)
- Experience in Commercial, High-rise & Composite structural buildings is a must.
Additional Responsibilities
Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
Conducts toolbox meetings.
Is part of the project safety council and leads all efforts to enhance safety.
Reviews and approve all subcontractors safety plans.
Verifies that accident reports are completed and submitted to related agencies Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
Promotes safe practices at the job site.
Enforces safety guidelines.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.
Conducts job hazard analyses.
Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.
Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations.
Responds to employees safety concerns.
NOTE: Experience in High Rise structures, commercial Buildings, & Composite structure Buildings is must attend an interview, without the said experience you will not be entertained.
