This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations. His post is equivalent to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

Educational Qualification & Department Names:

Junior Engineer (Civil), Central Water Commission (CWC) – Candidates should have Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

Junior Engineer (Mechanical), Central Water Commission – Candidates should have Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

Junior Engineer (Civil), Central Public Works Department (CPWD) – Candidates should have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Junior Engineer (Electrical), Central Public Works Department (CPWD) – Candidates should have Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Junior Engineer (Civil), Department of Posts – Candidates should have Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government.

Junior Engineer (Civil), Military Engineering Services (MES) – Candidates should have Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University OR (l) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and (ll) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.

Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), Military Engineering Services (MES) – Candidates should have Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University; OR (l) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and (ll) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works

Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contract), Military Engineering Services (MES) – Candidates should have (l) 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognised institute/University/Board or equivalent; OR (ll) Passed Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Divisional -II of the Institute of Surveyors (India).

Junior Engineer (Civil) in Farrakka Barrage Project – Candidates should have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Junior Engineer (Mechanical), Farrakka Barrage Project – Candidates should have Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
